Imagine your father was a famous person of history, and a movie is made about him, portraying his personality opposite of who he was, his actions and motives contrary to what he did and why. You’d be upset, maybe mad, certainly disappointed. This movie depicts God the way agnostics see Him. It appeals to those who don’t know Him, but it is misinformation. The less people read the Bible, the more they make up their own idea of who God is. That is very apparent by this depiction of the Exodus story. To the point where the true meaning is lost. I really wanted to like this movie, prepared for artistic license and some non-biblical scenes. That’s okay. But the more it diverged from scripture to misrepresent God, it just became sad.
