Judging by how quickly I finished the book, one would think I actually liked the book. At first I really enjoyed the idea of a Hench slowly turning villain herself as she exposed heroes for doing more harm than good, but with what Anna does for work, it really just feels like a band of paparazzi following superheroes and embarrassing them with the expectation of calling it exceptional work. Anna, a Hench spiteful of all heroes, especially Supercollider, for causing more harm and death than necessary while doing “good”, in turn causes harm and death in doing “bad” without batting an eye. The book also is very textbook villain vs hero, with characters who knowingly choose to be villains and complain when they’re seen as stains to society. Most good villains are the heroes in their story, and do not view themselves as the villain, or view themselves at least as the necessary villain. There are confusing plots, forgotten plots, and downright pointless plots/characters. It is a 400 page book with 8 chapters, in which the first two could have been summarized and mostly omitted based on the rest of the story. The premise started out cute, but ended up never reaching the potential it could have had. The biggest plus is it is very LGBT+ friendly.
