We made it about 5 comments down before the political slurs against those that have different beliefs and are awake and aware. The nastiness of those that feel that spreading their hate in a review is nothing short of sad and pathetic. We came to read civil respectful comments regarding this show but those against being awake and who love to dish that out wherever and whenever- ruin it over and over and over again. It has to stop. People need to be civil and keep their slurs out of reviews. This show is gritty and not easy to watch but it has merit, and we will continue to watch while doing our best to ignore the unpleasant uncivil remarks.

Just finished watching this season 2. There are many of us that are not asleep . That recognize our Climate situation is real . If you can not deal with being aware of what is going on why do you continue to watch a show that you just can't help throwing your political insults into?? is that the driving force behind continuing to watch? So you can leave unpleasant uncalled for political slurs? This show was worth a watch. Is it the best show we have ever watched - no but it was interesting and kept us watching. If you want asleep content- we suggest you stick to shows that do not ever bring up anything that is relevant in today's world and please keep your political slurs out of reviews.

Very watchable series. The actors were believable and the relationship between the mixed-race couple was refreshing to see. Using the term " woke" when leaving a comment about a movie or TV show is old , tired and extremely rude. Leaving comments about your biases against mixed race couples or people of color is just sad. This is 2024. Not the "dark ages". We are thankful that movies and TV shows are aware that life consists of ALL races and relationships. That is not "woke" it is just life as it is and as it will be and should be. This series was possibly a bit longer than needed but it kept our interest and was well worth the watch. Hopefully there will be another season.

The ending in our opinion was a let down. A cop out. We feel like we watched a movie and then were left with a what the heck ending... This great love story ? centered around two people who shortly after they met and fell in love had to live separately due to a Visa mistake. It did not take them long to start up new relationships once separated and waiting until they could be together again...especially the male character. He did not just have a light -on the side- relationship with another woman while he was supposed to be yearning and waiting until he could be back together with the woman he said he loved- instead he dove right into a living with another woman relationship. That to us is so far removed from what love is. Would not recommend this movie unless non endings and cheating are definitions of a love story for you? Then go for it.

Not having read the book this review is based solely on the movie -which was surprisingly good. Some reviewers have given it low stars due to not having enough horror...we definitely disagree. It has plenty of psychological horror - which for us was well played out and provided many, very tense packed moments. Hopefully there will be a sequel because this film deserves one and above all else, we must know that the cat lives!

First of all I am woke and proud of it - I would rather be woke than asleep! and am sick and tired of commenters using this word whenever and wherever they want. It is old it is tired. So wake up and grow up. As for the movie ? It was ok . Nothing spectacular. The character that supposedly lost his wife as so many commenters write about? she was never his wife. He abducted her and killed the man she loved. Then he killed her when she would not accept him- he put a ring on her finger AFTER he killed her. Sick twisted man. The actress that played Merideth was the best part of the movie. I for one kept waiting for some male companions for grieving widows. But I guess that wasn't worth exploring. No surprise there.

Yes this show may be considered by some to be drawn out or slow but to those of us that enjoy the slower pace, giving us time to soak in the characters and scenery. I cannot comment on any of the accents as I am hearing impaired, but the CC was very easy to follow. I enjoyed this show and hope there will be another season . One last comment -I really hoped I could read the reviews without any of the anti "woke" comments. They really are tiresome and stale. This is 2024 and yes there will be characters that will be portrayed that correspond with our society today. I for one find that refreshing.

I watched the original 1994 TV miniseries The Stand when it came out. From the moment it began I was glued to the TV. It grabbed your attention and did not let go. The beginning was as far superior to this 2020 remake as possible. I stuck with this new adaptation for as long as I could but didn't even make it to the end of the 2nd episode. Every character was perfectly portrayed in the 1994 series. In this new remake I could not feel any investment for the characters or the show. I like Whoppi but the original Mother Abigail ( sorry I can't recall the name of the actress off hand) so far outshines Whoppi in this case. I could continue to write about how the 1994 characters are all superior to the 2020 version but I don't want to turn this into one of the long reviews. For those that never watched the original 1994 The Stand miniseries and only have this one to go by all I can say is watch the original. There are times when updates /remakes are a good thing. This update /remake is not one of them. 1994 outshines this 2020 version hands down.

Plain and simple rating. This is an excellent must watch movie. My husband and I will be watching it again and again. It is that good. I am curious though about all the reviewers that leave negative reviews saying watching it is time they will never get back and many other words to that effect. Why continue watching if you dislike it so much? When I come across a movie or a show that I don't care for I simply stop watching it. To all the the copied and pasted repetitious negative reviews -ignore them. Just ignore them . Judge the movie for yourself , basing it on the actual movie and not on factors that that have no bearing on the movie itself. Reading them? That would be truly wasted time.
