I loved: the plot, the beautiful cinematography and the cast
I hated: the horrifically vague and frustrating ending that created no sense of equilibrium. So many questions, but not in a good way.
Spoiler alert: if none of the marooned sailors could go into the water because they'd die almost instantly (like Ragnar did) how did that Italian at the end swim back to the mainland to steal the boat?!
Was it actually a draugr? If so, did it possess the Italian? That made absolutely no sense of so and wasn't explained. Why would it possess the Italian so he could steal a boat?
If it wasn't a draugr, why did the Italian eat literally all of that fish in seemingly one sitting, raw? And how did it kill the others? And why did they all have the same vision at the same time?
Sloppy. At best. And a wasted opportunity to end the film in a frightening and intelligent way and save the film from the scrap pile of terrible horror films.
Forgettable. 3 screams out of 5 and it's only getting that score for the cast, scenery and relatively novel idea.
