I'm glad I stuck with the first couple of chapters where I had some difficulty connecting to the voice and flow of the narrative because this story is absolutely worth reading. And having just finished it I realise the story could not have been told any other way.
In Intermezzo Sally Rooney takes us on a journey of discovery... in all senses of the word. Discovery about the psych, sibling dynamic, grief and loss. And unresolved issues and the things we brush under the carpet affect our inner world and how we navigate life and relationships. Been done before of course but this feels fresh and new because it is examined in a whole new way.
