If you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, then you're going to love Patrick Jane (the protagonist of this series) as well. Jane is unique in his ways, unlike Sherlock, he is not an emotionless sleuth. He is funny but has a burden of pain and guilt in his heart, which makes him even more appealing. But he is not the only reason why this is one of the best TV series, the main villain Red John is one of the best villains ever. Besides, the team that Jane works with is excellent. They are funny and supportive. That's what I like about it.

If you're a beginner, then read this book first. I don't know about other books, but this book has given me the foundation. You will learn the memory techniques actively. So, that's a great advantage.
