Basically the book is about a woman who has a series of failed love affairs and gets addicted to drugs. Boring, unless you enjoy watching afternoon type soap operas. I admit that I am biased since I was actively opposed to the Vietnam war and knew many American veterans who were also opposed to the war and grieved their involvement in commiting war crimes.The book presents a niche history that really is very, very minor compared to the tremendous level of death and suffering that the Vietnamese people experienced. The book is revisionist history.

Synder engages in a lot of fear mongering in Tyranny. He cherry picks the worst case examples from the Nazi and Stalinist regimes to promote his POV of a Trump presidency. He really dumbs down the book for his readers. That being said, many of his suggestions for resisting Tyranny are laudable. He emphasizes kindness, community involvement and reading books. The art work in the graphic novel is creative but tends to be on the creepy and opaque side.

This book is an interesting read if only because it does provide insight into fascist thinking. The hero of this book is Francisco Franco the Spanish dictator who received military support from the Nazis and fascist Italy to defeat the democratically elected government of Spain in the 1930s. The authors neglect to mention critical and pivotal facts throughout the book. For example, they never mention that Dereck Chauvin, the cop who killed George Floyd, actually knelt on Floyd's neck for 9 minutes. The authors consider those who protested Floyd's murder to be "unhumans." Jack Posobiec, the lead author, is also responsible for promoting the hoax about demonic sex cannibals eating children in the basement of a pizza joint in Washington D.C. Whatever. The book falls flat in the end, I was expecting the Turner Diaries revisited or perhaps a Ruby Ridge revenge fantasy...meh...disappointing.
