The storyline was okay, but there seemed to be a lot missing or left unfinished. It didn't flow well. The production was poor, and sometimes it had a Batman villain feel. A lot of it was contrived. Whoever selected the scene music needs to go back to the drawing board. In the book series, Alex is a lot more sophisticated. I agree with many other reviews that this series was substandard, also unnecessarily and overtly racist. We had to turn it off several times during each episode to discuss our frustrations and disappointment. We never really felt a connection with any of the characters, and we breathed a sigh of relief when episode 8 concluded. They should have consulted with the producers, writers and directors of the Bosch series, which was a million times better.
