Well, there is one thing that Hollywood does well. And that is movies about the movies! This movie is about the transition from silent to the talkies. Just like another well-known film "Singing in the Rain ". But this movie has a lot of gross scenes and you really have no feeling for any of the characters. The montage at the end was so obvious. It's three hours that I'll never get back again. I gave it four stars for the wonderful production values and the wonderful acting.
