I will never forget the feeling of excitement when running home from the bus stop as a Year 7 or Year 8 to catch the latest episode at 5pm on CBBC every day that it aired. And then how I psyched I would be when I got to talk about it with my friends at school the next day, even breaking down in tears on a few occasions because of the more emotional episodes, especially towards the end of S2.
Ngl, I get a little teary every time I think about Wolfblood and remember the love and devotion I gave the show during my first years of secondary school. In fact I was such a devoted fan that I have screencaps from the show that I printed out to tape on my bedroom walls, fan art, OC ref sheets, fanfictions and fan made music videos lying around everywhere, be it in the folders of my old laptop's hard drive or the depths of my closet :3 This was the perfect "transition show" (alongside shows the likes of the Story of Tracy Beaker/Dumping Ground series, Eve, M.I. High, Sarah Jane Adventures, Leonardo, Young Dracula, Wizards vs. Aliens etc.) that guided me through the more "mature" end of CBBC shows to the world of adult drama... And I will admit, even though I'm a bit older now, I still go back to Wolfblood from time to time, 1000% enjoying it every single time that I rewatch it ^^
I haven't been keeping up with S4 or S5, so I don't know how much this has changed since 2014 (and I'm not ready just yet to venture out of my comfort zone and find out just yet because I am way too attached to the original casting of Seasons 1-3 to let go) but the first 3 seasons are amazing with a great cast, a fantastic plot, beautifully composed BGM and superb character development. Without doubt, this show defined my preteen years and I will strongly argue that this is one of the best young teen shows out there! I would highly reccommend this to anyone, no matter what age you are; yes it's aimed at mainly 11-15 year olds (I think anyway? That's around the age I was when I watched it) but in my honest opinion, even adults can enjoy this beautiful series overshadowed by the mythical and gorgeous Northern English setting and Celtic themes <3 15/10. Thank you to the cast, crew and writer Debbie Moon for this blessing, I think I speak for several other members of my generation growing up in Britain at the time when I say that this show was a huge part of our early high school lives.
