I am usually the type that takes forever to read a book, but I ended up blazing through this one in less than 3 days.
Decently easy to read, but can, at times, become a bit confusing thanks to the many different names throughout the story and the big cast of characters. (Many characters are using fake names as well, so they will get introduced as one person, then their real names will be introduced later, but their fake name will still be used at times by some characters. Can be a bit daunting if you, like I, suck at remembering names, but actually works in the books favor, as it highlights just how disorientating it all is)
It has a cast of fun and interesting characters, though a bit crowded at the start. It is very clear who the most important characters are, though, so it is not a big deal that the story gets a bit "crowded" at a specific point in the book. I will have to say some of them are a bit underutilized, especially the first introduced character, Tim, that I had hoped would have paid a more active role rather than the more reactive one that he ended up with.
The focus is, in my opinion, on the correct character, but I don't believe the dynamic between the main character and the previously mentioned character is being fully utilized. They simply did not have enough time to create the kind of bond that I had hoped to see, but still not a bad dynamic between them.
Ending feels a bit rushed with a lot of exposition right near the end. Fell a bit flat and, although it does make sense, was not that well hinted to in the story. It does not fell like an ass-pull, but it does feel somewhat forced.
When all that is said; Overall a fun read with an interesting premise and characters you can really root for with a lot of potential connections to other Stephen King books.
