This is an amazing film, that is a powerful example of great writing, cinematography, and an incredibly skilled actor. It is what a great short story has always been - a single scene that tells us a great deal about one person's life - his strengths and his weaknesses, his life as a father, a husband, and an experienced professional who is at the peak of his skills; his ability to multitask and stay externally calm and focused, even when most internally stressed; his ability to teach, coach, and mentor a younger colleague; and the facts of his childhood which led an incredibly difficult decision and the resolution to see it through on this particular night. I cannot recommended this highly enough to anyone who wants to expand their understanding of humanity, and how someone can make a decision that is noble and right for him, even though he risks losing his job, his wife, and the respect of peers. An amazing ride!
