Mixed feelings about the movie. Maybe someone can relate. I've never complained much about movies (if at all). Even older action/adventure films with dated technology never phase me because there's a compelling story that pulls me in. The characters have clear motivations, desires, and flaws to which I can relate. There's a clear conflict that has me on the edge of my seat. The antagonists stir my emotions and make me wince whenever they appear on screen. And when I arrive at the ending, it's rewarding and moving and resolves the emotions I felt throughout the story. And... I didn't feel any of that with the Marvels. It's like Marvel forgot how to tell a story. They've told stories so compelling that we don't even remember how bad the CGI was, but now it seems like they're just pumping out unfinished ideas. Incomplete sentences. Unformed thoughts. And no, not everyone is concerned with plot and story in big action films, but it makes a movie much more meaningful. I really hope Marvel turns this around. So many fans have been inspired by the stories they have told (including myself), and I hope they start doing that again.
