David Gilmour says its the best he's done since Darkside of the Moon.
I'd disagree it's a very good LP with the late Rick Wright on the organ in the barn jam session.
You can hear Floyd influences from Meddle, from Atom Heart Mother, from the Wall, even DOTM. Guitar Solos as good as Wish You Were Here and Animals.
Yet unlike The Wall and DOTM it isn't an LP that continues a story or theme.
I love the cover track sung by Romany Between Two Points. Her voice and harp plating are beautiful and David's solo is one of the best on this LP.
I still feel David Gilmour first solo Album entitled David Gilmour is his beat, I love Raise my Rent and Theres no way out of here. But there are tracks on this new LP that are great too.
This album probably brings all of Gilmour together, his work with Floyd especially all his work with Rick, it brings great collaborative work with Polly, Joe, Romaney and Charlie his talented children, who will continue the Gilmour music making with David and Polly. It brings in great experienced musicians like Steve Gadd, and a new talented players, and wonderful orchestral pieces. So it probably is the best of David Gilmour right now, the culmination of all his experiences.and skill over the years has produced a great LP.
Which he has a right to view as his best work since DSOTM. Many will love this album and have favourite tracks, Scattered and Between Two Points are two strong contenders for best tracks to be loved by his worldwide fans.
