I don't review movies, but this one made me do it. Straw is heartwarming, touching, sad....raw.
I've never felt for main characters in a movie so hard, since I balled my eyes out watching The Notebook.
As an adoptive parent of 3 boys through foster care, with one being a safe surrender 4 week premature baby- this movie spoke about how you can do everything right as a parent- but nobody cares. Nobody else has been in your shoes, walked your miles, or cared how used and torn your shoes even are.
To feel so alone. So empty. So hopeless. To truly encapsulate how much a shred of empathy can truly touch another human being. Magnificent. I love this movie.
If you're a person of color. Someone struggling to make ends meet. Downtrodden and can't catch a break. A parent.
This movie will resonate with you on a primal level. This- is Cinema.
