honestly disappointing. The plot is really fun and interesting idea that was poorly executed by the bad writing and bland characters. Yet, I still sat down and finished the book. I was 14 when i read it, and i would not recommend this book to anyone over the age of 12. The language is basic and watered down. I will say, I would love to see this plot written by another author. I cringed whenever the book mentioned sex, it was written in an immature and misogynistic way. And don't even get me started on the main character. "America Singer". First off, listen up YA fiction writers out there, having red hair. does not. make your character interesting. America is a shallow, selfish, boring, and annoying character. I understand why she had so many haters. Honey, they weren't jealous, you're just annoying! Marlee was such a sweetie though, I loved her. I also hated the "im not like other girls" trope they used in this. ew. So, if you want a fast paced, easy read, can tolerate an annoying mc, a predictable plot, than this misogynistic kids novel is perfect for you!
