I have never seen the original from 1982. That being said, this movie was absolute garbage. I watched it for free and I still wanted a refund. The story is incredibly fast paced. The history is "it was built on a cemetery". The scares are incredibly un-scary and the effects are waaayyy over the top and completely take away from any semblance of horror. If you enjoy horror films, save yourself the time.
