Robinson's retelling of a literary classic infused the perfect amount of supernatural twistiness, while paying respectful homage to Dumas' themes and insights.
It was exciting to read, and works well for those that are fans of The Count of Monte Cristo, however also stands alone proudly for those who have yet to embark on journey of absolute revenge.
