I like this movie very much. At first I felt a little scared to watch a death scene, but after watching it, I felt the mood and it was very educational and inspirational. First, it illustrates the Chinese traditional mind, concept, and problem of "preferring sons to daughters". Second, I like that we should pay attention to our attitude towards our family members and relatives; it brings out the importance of "cherishing the people in front of us". Third, I like the part that parents pay attention to their children's education how good education can help pave the way for their future work and life. They decided to accept the church and be baptized because of good school system. I felt the love of parents is so priceless. Fourth, when the male protagonist was sick, only his daughter took care of her father without abandoning him, which illustrates the Chinese concept of filial piety. Finally, I saw that one of the main actor’s last wishes was to wear a suit, which shows that he broke the traditional Chinese thinking and accepted the Western culture. Thank you very much for the producers and actors shooting this movie. I rated 5 stars and it’s highly recommend.
