Okay so. I randomly thought of watching this movie today. Saw the reviews and thought that it was going to be a cringe feminism movie. But dude it was so good. I don't understand the bad reviews. This is my new favourite movie. It was so well written, arranged, so magnetic... There was no cringe in it except for a couple of scenes. I had started to watch the movie with a really bad nit-picky mood due to the reviews. I was ready to pick out every flaw in that movie but there were barely any. In fact I wouldn't even have noticed the flaws I noticed if I hadn't seen the reviews. I don't understand why people didn't like the movie. The meaning of feminism was shown very well. It wasn't the cringe "women can do wrong things like men in the name of feminism". Like okay yeah drinking isn't a good thing to do, but it's really normal to show people drinking in movies. But in other movies that isn't criticised? Self-pleasure is something we do have to talk more about. Victim-blaming is something we do have to talk about. Single people not allowed to get houses is something we do have to talk about. The movie portrayed, addressed and showcased issues and taboo topics really well dude. Some people also said that there was no structure in the movie, and there were way too many subplots. But I think not. Yes, there were many subplots, but at no point did those subplots felt unnecessary. The subplots were very much needed to make the movie complete. Those subplots made the story feel more real. Why? Because usually life has more than one problem going on at the same time. See, there were obviously flaws in this movie, but it at least deserved a 3.8.These many flaws are present in almost any movie. I could say so many good things about this movie. An absolute masterpiece.
Like dude this movie would have been such a big hit in the west. If a movie like Barbie can get 6, this would have gotten at least a 9. And if this can only get 2, Barbie should have gotten 0.5. (just for comparison guys, not trying to throw shade on barbie, but let's be honest it wasn't well arranged and too far stretched)
