After having watched both the Avatar the Last Airbender and Halo live-action remakes, I am happy I didn't read the books before watching this. With no expectations of what it "should" be I thought the show was extremely fun to watch! I like sci-fi but am not a scientist so being able to get my dose of high-quality sci-fi was great!
I see a lot of people complaining about DEI and well because I didn't read the books it didn't bother me at all!! I was introduced to characters I thought "Ah... it's a new character"Completely ignorant of the books I accepted it and was able to watch the show with a smile.
Also, some people are saying that the main characters weren't anti-social enough. Man I don't wanna watch a bunch of nerds struggle to communicate I can just go hang out with my friends if I want that. If this was supposed to be realistic then it would've been as fun.
I feel bad for the DEI people, especially that James guy. (or Jimmy idk) I also don't like it when politics is injected into everything but tbh there was hardly any in this show at all! People who are upset about gender or race swapping are getting mad about a decision that happened before the show was made and not the show itself. I feel like because of that they couldn't really enjoy the show on its own merits! Propaganda wise the shoul could have said "look its a woman scientist, how empowering" or "I struggle as a character because I'm a black person" and shoved it in the audience's face way too hard but there was hardly any mention of contemporary U.S demestic politics at all.
Great show. I loved it. And so you damn libs dont get on my case for being annoyed by anything I said, I am a mixed Black Asian Non-binary left voting "man" so yeah I'm invincible 💪 😂
