What more can be said about this "giant" of a movie. The acting is subperb, dynamic, and full of action. The movie greats all do a wonderful job. The movie is based off of a "domestic fiction" story by Edna Ferber. She captures the essence of a rich oil family and the drama of what its like being apart of the Riata Ranch. A must see for the younger generation in order that they may be able to understand just how much the art of acting has changed. Modern movies tend to rely upon the music and sound effects, while older classic movies, like Giant, depends upon the actual talent of the actors and actresses. You will enjoy the performances of Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean, Carroll Baker, Jane Withers, Chill Wills, and Mercedes McCambridge.

A nice carefree and wholesome movie. Doris Day, Davis Niven and the other actors/actresses all did a great job!

The acting was GREAT by all of the characters!!! I especially appreciated how the movie depicted the era of that time. For example, the old fashion homes, cars, clothes, the courthouse, and the closely knit bond of families. Finally, since autumn is my favorite season, I especially enjoyed the last scene because the wind is blowing, its dark, scout and Jem are the last ones to leave their school costume party, and the stage is being set for a confrontation with a mysterious person.

Awww, words are inadequate; please just watch the movie!

Never saw the movie, "Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg (2009); however, I use to watch the actual show, "The Goldbers". A very delightful program depicting family togetherness.

I watched this movie a few years back with my husband. I don't remember everything about it but I do recall that, although it was not a serious film, it was indeed a scary and sad thriller about a very peculiar family. Lon Chaney gave a wonderful performance as did the whole cast. In addition, the setting and its surrounding features, added to the mystery of this family who lived in isolation, though their house was not far from their society. However, it was far enough to keep a family secret hidden. This was not your average dysfunctional family! Although I didn't like everything about this movie (some parts were just too creepy and I had to look away), I'm giving it 5 stars because the acting was good as was the setting and its surrounding features. If you haven't watched it, bear in mind that it truly is a creepy movie. But then again, it is a thriller so this is to be expected : )

Excellent actors and a great movie! The settings (New Mexico and Maine) and the houses are also a plus about this film. Very good acting by all and just a good clean movie. If you want drama, Gene Tierney delivers on that; if you want wholesomeness, Jeanne Crain is your lady; Vincent Price like Tierney, displays drama in the court room and Cornel Wilde plays the part of a good man; Enjoy!!
