Great movie, Exciting cinematography and plot twists. It is actually a true story that keeps you spellbound. I admit that being a native of Seattle and having attended the University of Washington for a while makes me less than impartial. Also I banged around in boats on Lake Washington , the ship canal and Lake Union, Puget Sound and a commercial fishing career up and down the West Coast and Alaska. This movie is much more exciting than anyone would expect even if familiar with these eight man racing canoes. It’s about character and grit and a time of great challenges for everyone in 1930’sAmerica. None of what I said about myself above is important in this story. It is about America as it was then and the possibilities for what we could become today.
