Superb adaptation of the book imo; fans of which won’t be disappointed. The casting is perfect, the acting incredible; the material is handled sensitively and with integrity. Hats off all round, sublime production and performances.

Very very odd, not sure what to make of it really. A very disjointed narrative, which is well acted by Colman. Interesting commentary on the pitfalls of motherhood, a refreshing take on the theme. But an unclear ending and overall all v strange and vague in terms of a message. So not really my cup of tea but there are flashes of brilliance. A shame it left me feeling short changed and confused.

So disappointing. Hammy acting and a extremely far fetched plot. Ridiculous waste of time. The activist vegan daughter is the best thing in it! With so much content available, don’t waste your time on this drivel. What a waste of Maxine Peak.

A few tense moments and Cush Jumbo is great, albeit she has very little in the way of material to work with. The plot is full of holes and stretches the limits of plausibility. An utter mess, a wasted opportunity as it had potential to be good what with the actors and the budget. Don’t waste your time on this!

I am gutted to give this only three stars as it started off so well! Good performances from Jamie Dornan and Danielle Mc Donald particularly, and a really strong if deliberately unclear opening which is at first highly intriguing. However by ep four we still don’t have answers which is frustrating to say the least - and then the end is a complete mess and ridiculously far fetched ! What a disappointment after investing 6 hours. My advice: don’t bother!
