There are good elements to this movie such as comedy and visual effects. However the overall film feels very rushed. There is never a clear indication of who the villain actually is and there are many sub-plots created that lead nowhere. When Black Adam finally does the right thing it feels a good place to end the film. It shows a change in the protagonist and hints the creation of a massive threat and could be used for sequel films. Instead the film continues and takes what could be an entirely different film and crams it into half an hour of screen time. The overall final fight just feels like you’re watching a video-game rather than a film with random slow motion shots that aren’t at all needed. The whole backstory of Black Adam is really confused and the sudden reveal that he is not the kid we see at the start is so unneeded. Atom and the doctor guy are obviously Ant-Man and Doctor Strange with Atom being all comedic and dumb and the doctor having a “only one solution” vision. If they did the right thing and made multiple movies and spent more time with the characters then I would’ve felt some emotion when characters died but it just felt forced. I just feel this film could’ve been better as two and does not show the new DC universe as a promising load of films.
