Will Mountain

The sets look good, but this was awful. Not very well written and not very funny. It's got to be hard to manage a live version of a show with so many characters but it comes off as a bad cosplay. And this could sound like I'm ripping on a group of kids but honestly feel it falls more on the direction given as I get the impression that most of the girls were left in the wind or told to read the line before going to the next shot. When it comes to jokes there is barely any time for them to properly land and there isn't any balance to the cartoonyness of them. Either they don't want to dare lean into the silliness of a joke like the show would or when they do, it just stands out like a sore thumb the rare times it does happen. The finale of the show should be that rich pile of being ridiculous that you'd hope for but it is at entirely underwhelming. Some better direction with more dynamic shots and some faster editing would have improved it by miles. Highlights were the actress for Lisa and Clyde who were pretty much on point and the set for the house looks amazing. If they are doing this as a hope for a live spin off then I hope they learn from this sketchy first draft that this special was.
