I loved this. I see a lot of folks saying it was stilted and boring but I loved the stillness of it. In a world where so many movies/programmes are 'action' stories that frankly are really boring to me, it is refreshing to have a drama that requires some thought to understand the point. I also liked that it was contained in one series. A lot of great series has been ruined by running them too long. And finally, there have been a few films about this terrible phase in American history but they tend to have something to lighten the the truth. Little Big Man (a wonderful film) is an example of this. The English is not an easy drama but a bit of raw reality might not be such a bad thing.
