Maribeth Stein

The series was really moving! It did an excellent job of demonstrating how the cycle of poverty is nearly impossible to break out of. In Alex's case most of the chips were stacked against her. It is a true testament to human spirit without resorting to cliches and making her a victim or a plucky optimist. The actress, and yes I say actress and not little girl, who plays Maddie is a force to be reckoned with and I'm sure she is someone we will see a lot of as she grows up.Highly recommend!
