Watching THE KASHMIR FILES made me understand what catharasis is ! Vivek Agnihotri lifts the movie from the individual to the universal . He becomes our voice and his story...ours. Never ever had there been someone who could really call a spade a spade. Salute to this braveheart who today for what he has done stands like a giant . TKF is dark,cold, bold and brutally honest. It stirs you from inside. It shakes you and compels you to wake up from your willful oblivion. You may pretend as if nothing has happened but then deep inside you know the truth...you realise that u r gonna lose sleep over this ! I could witness the spine chilling murders and almost smelt the blood splattered on my face ! How disorienting is it just to imagine a wife forced to eat a handful of rice soaked in her murdered husband's blood ! Why were(n still are) d main stream cinema, historians, intellectuals, our media SILENT on this while d cry of AZADI by d TUKDE TUKDE gangs reverbates from JNU to Saheen Bagh ? Quite shocking and ridiculous is the stunning silence of Bollywood! And while every other film and every Tom, Dick and Harry gets promoted on talk /reality/dance/singing shows, the absence of any mention of TKF raises eyebrows. And what about KAPIL SHARMA's show? Itni khamosi kyun hai bhai ? Is there a lobby working in an organized way to not give this film the respect it deserves ? Not to worry at all.
