Enjoyed it! Can’t tell if the ridiculous volume of copy and paste 1 star reviews are genuine or a bizarre marketing ploy nodding to the films themes. Great performances all around. Flawed characters trapped together mistrusting each other always makes for great suspense. Z Not everything is spelled out for the audience in the film, that is the point and a part of what makes the situation terrifying. *spoiler* It has a downbeat ending and does not spell out the conclusion, which might not be for everyone.“This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but with a whimper”. It creates the disconnect the characters would feel if the world ended while they were none the wiser. It does wrap up, it’s not that complex, but no, it’s not an action movie standard of an ending where baddies are kicked off a roof and heroes hi-five and talk about how much they’ve changed before a Rhiana song kicks in. Directing seemed a little busy at first but got used to the style being used to make everything unnerving at all times and appreciated lots visually fascinating shots, even if they were sometimes a confusing choice. Lots of visual nods and hommage to great thrillers (Jaws, The Birds, Duel, North by Northwest, Poltergeist, sure I missed many more), which was fun.
