This book is so beautifully written about the love between two people Alina and Tomasz living through the trials of war in the 1940s where there was so much trauma and despair for so many families torn apart. Yet the story of Alina's love exceeds years beyond her expectation as she narrates this love story to her granddaughter Alice. It was a journey I enjoyed as I reflected back to my own grandmother and father's journey to the future. The things we cannot say...a magical story of love.
