This book is not written for an audience that has any sense of botanical science. It reads to me like it was written for children between the ages of five and eight. The author writes as though trees have similar senses to those of human being--they can be happy, sad, they shiver when it's cold and perspire when temperatures are high. Maybe the true sense of the book was lost in its translation from German to English. The author is a trained forester and I was expecting more.
