Wow, just wow.
I was reading into the perfect life, then, so many questions. However, not all of the questions needed to be answered, nor situations to further be explained for me.
My emotions were shook! I cried my eyes out on my flight. I was so fulfilled. My mother had also chosen this movie to watch on our flight. We then shared thoughts. She didn’t really understand why it shook me as much as it did. The one example I remember saying was “That’s why they ask you to put on your own mask before helping anyone else, on flights”.
Jack acted in selfish ways, and it backfired for him. Strong women taking action!
Highly recommend! All actors did a great job. Huge shout out to the main actors Florence & Harry.
So many emotions flowed through me. An empowering feminism comeback. We all want that perfect relationship. But what is perfect? Combined with hallucinations to stir it up. Yes Alice, yes!
It was very touching to me that Jack sacrificed his own happiness for Alice’s and a life with her. But was that what she wanted? Mixed emotions, but more on the excited side when Alice smashed Jacks head in.
The importance of setting boundaries and listening to each other. All relationships, and all lives are perfect, when they are authentic. You can candy coat your life, like Bonny has chosen…..The girl talk, the alcohol, the nicotine, the not so dead kids, the perfect life. You can choose to put as many bandages on your life as you’d like, but unless you consciously open your eyes, analyze, put the work in to overcome your traumas, you’ll forever live with those trauma's.
Alice put in the work, risked it all and found a way out. Back to 30 hour shifts with limited energy left. Though, this was her way of making Jack happy, authentically.
Maybe if he removed himself from the research into that cult and found another job, they could have lived authentically happily ever after together.
