I actually really enjoyed it and I like to think I've got high standards. I thought all the acting was tremendous and it was a very powerful drama about a deeply troubled group of young people, none of whom were particularly likeable and who got themselves into some dark and dreadful messes. But it also carried a message of hope. I was quite gripped by it.

Sally Lindsay is marvellous as ever but the plot is going bonkers with her character taking mad risks and happily going off to meet a potential witness in a deserted park in darkness. Guess what? She was lured there by the bad people. Shoddy plotting but I am sticking with it for now in hope of improvement.

This book is a very clear and intelligent piece of writing, with a detailed explanation of how a small and privileged elite has gained power in all areas of national life in the UK and other western States at the expense of the vast majority of the public, who have no voice or, if they try and express their voice, are derided as ignorant, racist, xenophobic bigots. Everyone should read this book.
