First things first.. This show is not going to give you those jump out of your seat moments. The horror part is okay. Dialogues-okayish. What the show really explores though is an underlying tone of political and religious upheaval (Which the Indian viewer can really decipher) wrapped up in a visually satisfying dark, dystopian world look, trying hard to get into that horror genre, drawing from an ancient Arabic lore. The makers invite you to introspect and think but at the same time take you on a roller coaster ride of instant turn of events and an epic soundtrack which does justice to the set up. The season is 3 episodes long, so there isn't much character building and you are just dropped in the middle of all the action. Personally , I liked it. It isn't sacred games good but it's good nonetheless.
