For the first time in what feels like forever, I actually agree with Rotten Tomatoes. For the most part it's actually watchable, I'll give it that at least. To begin, half of the main cast are completely insufferable, uninteresting, and unrelatable. I'd like to go into actual rants about some of the more annoying characters, but I'm not going to be getting into any spoilers. Paul Rudd's character is completely pathetic and is a failed attempt to try and get the other characters to appear better in contrast, an unfortunate Hollywood trope that's all too common these days. All the jokes are either really watered down, overused, or just straight up not at all funny, I did not laugh once throughout the entire film. The main antagonist is intimidating for literally 2 minutes, then just becomes a complete joke after that point. If you're hoping for some nostalgia from the old cast, you get a few scenes here and there, nothing crazy. For the most part however, the movie just drags on with its weak, predictable plot and one-dimensional characters. As for the ups: it had nice CGI and a painfully relatable scene involving the mayor at the end.
