The development of this show was so disappointing. There are so many characters and plot lines that there’s no time to get to know and feel a connection with them. From the moment the general meets Alina, you can tell they’re going to be together. However, there’s hardly any development of this relationship, and we learn next to nothing about his past. Also, the relationship between Mal and Alina has no backbone since all of their development happened before the start of the show. It’s difficult to root for their friendship/romance when it’s so rushed and lacking in substance. None of the characters have substantial personalities, and the plot is hard to follow. There was no part of me that felt invested in what happened to the characters or their relationships. This show is a compilation of random scenes that add up to mediocre entertainment. Also the hottest guy on the show (in my opinion), Calahan, is just some side role who’s storyline randomly starts in the middle of the season. What’s up with that.
