Gehraiyaan...watch only if you can handle disturbance and disruption . This film reminds me of the last disturbia that was Antarmahal by Rituparno Ghosh. The script is so strong it allmost breaks the stereotype, so much so that by the end you wish you had not watched it. The human mind knows how to deal with calculated shocks, but Gehraiyaan goes where probably few filmmakers have gone in the past. And surpassing that awkward feeling in your stomach, it also celebrates the good, bad , and the very ugly of the human race to the extent that it even starts stinking through your TV screens. Deepika does a good job and Siddhanth does his bit justice. Ananya , well I would probably choose someone like a Sara Ali over her for this role because it would open up an avenue for exploiting an opportunity of a lifetime. I don't know why there is the fourth character, which to me was just an insecurity of conformity from the director's part to keep. You don't need to be in a bad unworthy relationship to have an affair. The film has its flaws on the script level, but is still a Great mess worth 148 minutes. Shakun Batra has done it again.
4 out of 5 stars..striking one off for the unnecessary character as mentioned above.
