The original Little Mermaid is my all time favorite movie. After watching it in the theater I was obsessed with the magical world of mermaids. I’ve collected mermaid gadget and gizmos since I was 6 years old and my collection is still not complete even as an adult in my 30s! I had high hopes for the new movie. I went in thinking I was going to feel the same magic I felt back in 1989. But all I felt was disappointment and boredom! The horrible cgi made it painful to watch, the singing (except for Ariel’s who was decent) was terrible, and I just wanted it over. It just dragged on and on and even my kids fell asleep during it. I get why everyone is hyping it up, but let’s be real. It wasn’t great. In fact, it was pretty bad. I don’t ever want to see it again.
