A wonderful production, and story. Well cast, and beautiful portrayal of a unique, and complex individual. 5 ⭐️

American Sniper is without doubt a difficult movie to watch. And there are the historical misrepresentations. That said, it is worth watching, and reading the book. Which I will do. I did feel a deep empathy for the lead character Chris Kyle. What an amazing story.

Welsh drama, Hinterland is a crime drama within the noir genre. It definitely had the slick, moody feel of a Nordic drama. The Welsh climate & landscape lends itself to dark, sultry whodunnits. A stella cast,, though would have enjoyed a broader character development within the entire investigative team. Chief Superintendent Prosser was a closed book from the first episode. A very slow reveal through the three series, unravel long held secrets. I’d love to give this five stars, but found the lead investigator, Mattias depression wearing in season two. Underscored by the wet weather, his brooding needed a circuit breaker. Apart from that, I thoroughly enjoyed Hinterland and give it four stars.

As thrillers go, The Suspect held up until the two last episodes. The keystone cops were pathetic. The lead character did their work for them. At one point I actually burst out laughing at their first conclusion to finding a piece of evidence. 🤣 The plot is overwrought, with each new event more absurd than the last. The lead suspect put in a fabulous performance, and carried this show home. Though, the finale was weak, and preachy. (Writers that ran out of ideas) After the big reveal, it all fell flat. But, the lead is very dishy and a darned good actor. 😍

Inspector Morse is unrivalled, however the contrast between Morse & Lewis made for a beloved character long before he stepped out with Hathaway as his sidekick. With superb writing and stellar performance's, Inspector Lewis is a 5 stars from me. Following the death of his wife, Lewis character arc is most satisfying indeed.

Of all my favourite sleuths, Inspector Morse is my numero uno. His character arc is deeply satisfying. His moods, flirtations and approach to his work make for a compelling human experience. John Thaw’s performance is so credible, it’s difficult to separate the actor from his character. RIP John Thaw. We remember you morsefully & with affection.
