Just started watching this movie and seeing it for the first time is bringing back memories of Christina Crawford’s book that I read, Mommy Dearest. The character Joan portrays seems so much like she was in her personal life with other people. Cold as ice mixed with a crazy cruelty that everyone back then knew about. She had a reputation and the kind of woman I’d run like hell to get away from if I ever dated her. I was married to someone with a temper like that. She was a nag too. 😫 I loved the movie though.
