I'd bet money that the writers of this hot piece of garbage have never even read any of Tolkiens work. The thing about Tolkien is that he thought of almost everything - he was a master craftsman when it came to world building. Yeah, you can just read LOTR or The Hobbit and be totally drawn into the world - but if you read the Silmarillion or any of the histories of Middle Earth, you'll realize there is an immense amount of history, context, and backstories. So how in the hell did the writers of this show decide not to use ANY of that material? It's literally already been done - just reference the material that already exists - because unlike other universes (say Star Wars), this one is exquisitely flushed out and detailed. Greed. Money. And perhaps most of all, exceptionally stupid writers have made this one of the worst shows of all time. Visually, parts are beautiful, but that's the ONLY good thing one can say about this.
