It is very difficult to depict real history considering its dynamic aspect of it but this movie did a great job on portraying how WW had deep impact on people's life. Families had to separate their children at a very young age obviously due to valid reason but it left dark scares. This kid who played the role of "Amerigo" did a great job showing emotions as if it is very real. The plot unfolds with a famous violin play can to know the bad news of his mother passing away just right before this concert and he followed rule "the show must go on". From this point the plot goes back when he was a kid at the time WWII. Families dire situation separated him from his loving mother who he missed a lot. He couldn't find a new family to get adopted thus a communist social worker had to take him at her house what she did not like but eventually saw his as her son. All the story plays with strong emotion of motherly love being tested against aftermath of war faced poor Italy. Last moment of the movie will remain in my mind for long. I recommend the movie as a must to watch. Great story, screenplay and cinematography.
