Awesome movie! I was involved in a car accident in 1992 when driving cross-country and ended up in a coma. I had just been discharged from the Army at Fort Ord, California. My wife and I were driving back home to Clemson, South Carolina, when she fell asleep at the wheel on I-10 about 100 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona. My parents were called and told to get on the earliest flight possible because the doctors did not think I’d survive the night. I was initially rated a 4 on the Glasgow Coma Scale (3-10). Friends and family were immediately notified and the prayers began, in this country and abroad. I had an unknown number of people praying for me. Ten days later, on July 4th, I woke up from my coma and spent the next three weeks at Barrow Neurological Institute undergoing rehab. After leaving the hospital, I spent the next 8 months undergoing rehab at Roger C. Peace in Greenville, SC. Most of my story actually begins at this point, but I just praise God for His love and faithfulness. (I still suffer from short term memory loss and have held multiple jobs from coast to coast). This year my youngest child will graduate high school and head to college. I am so thankful to God that He not only allowed me to live, but to have a great life, albeit full of frustration and challenges. He is the Almighty and I owe Him my life!
