Worst writing and directing. How are people really rating this high?

I've had this movie on my list for the longest time and I truly regret not seeing it when it came out. This is the best Netflix movie I've seen in a long while. I think the pace is perfect or maybe I have a thing for slow-paced movies. Also, perfect acting and directing!

Terribly childish. What's with the main character and her lack of multiple expressions? She only has one form of expression and communication and that's "sassy". Even in situations where she's not supposed to be e.g. appealing to the empathy of the audience or the other characters, she's still sassy. Either she's a poor actor or it's just poor directing.
