I lasted 20 minutes of the first episode. I wanted to stop around 5 minutes in, but I gave it a chance. Austin Butler (I had to look up his name) is essentially Elvis pretending to be a pilot. Idk who casted him, but he looks absolutely nothing like the real person and I'd bet money that Major Gale Cleven would be ashamed. Cleven certainly didn't have highlights in his hair! The way this series tries to focus on trying to glamourize Austin Butler is repulsive. Clench your jaw a little more—why don't ya. The actor who attempts to portray Harry Crosby doesn't resemble the real man, at all, either. It is apparent that the producers and casting director deliberately casted against type for this project. The writing is terrible, full of one-liners and poor attempts at quips, only to make the characters appear as witlings. I expected more from Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. I loved Band of Brothers, and this was nowhere close to as good as that.
