How many times have I watched this? Even I can’t remember. Such a great movie. It’s hard to believe that I only read the book a few years ago. Nearly twenty years after the movie was released. I will probably read it again now. Brilliant film and great storyline. It’s very hard to emulate a good book on the big screen but I think it’s worth watching again

You could watch this movie again and again and still enjoy it

Great movie. I have seen the original and read the book. In contrast to other reviewers, this is not a promotion for the rise of Nazism in Germany. The inherent message here is that many Germans were against the war; if people bothered to read the book they might actually learn something about the war. This is the trouble these days, people would rather watch a movie and cast judgment about it based on just watching the movie without knowing the background of the story. The movie is actually made by a German filmmaker and German actors with possibly the exception of the ones playing Marshal Petain and his delegation. Still relevant today considering the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

It's easy to see why this is a brilliant movie. Daniel Craig and Colm Meaney are excellent throughout. So many twists and turns , it's hard to keep up! Overall though a great watch. One that you could watch again and still enjoy yourself
