This game is so awful. The controls and platforming are worse than any other crash game, the save and checkpoint system is god awful and horribly dated, the stage design is really not there compared to other crash games, the bosses all suck, the game design looks completely undercooked, there are numerous unfinished areas, a third of the cutscenes dont have voices while their mouths are moving, every cutscene is some unfunny reference, spyro randomly shows up for 2 seconds to do absolutely nothing and disappear at the end, the soundtrack is mostly infuriating but occasionally hits a good note (the final boss music was good), the character switching sucks, none of the characters other than crash are legitimately fun to play, there are constant game breaking bugs, doors do not load and force your character to faceplant for 30 seconds to load and enter the area, and I could go on and on and on. This is NOT the game you remember as a kid, this is something so buggy and infuriating that it would never get released today. You will wish you never touched the Crash franchise because of this entry. Wrath of Cortex is infinitely better than this game just from its playability alone. I would recommend any Crash game previous to this. Do not bother with this game.
