John Lewis' book was an eye opener. Memoirs of the Movement showed me how white-washed my education was growing up. I learned so much from his life and came to the realization that there were so many things happening in America at the same time. There were men who had fought in World Wars and came home to die standing up for their civil rights during the movement. John Lewis was a great leader and believed in doing what was right for humanity, regardless of race, class, or age.
