OMG so bad. Disjointed. Contrived. Overly dramatic. Unrealistic. Corny quips in awkward moments. Don’t even get me started on the ill-fitting soundtrack. Trying to incorporate too many genres, like Woody Allen meets Empire. All star cast but the material was just horrible. So hard to see Denzel trying to keep Spike Lee relevant, he must owe him something big. Two hours of your life you can’t get back. So disappointing.

It tried. So many extra subplots for no reason. So many convoluted storylines. None of it was believable. I think the actors did a good job, this is a really good cast, they were trying too hard with the writing…the conversations just seemed pointless…to detract from the fact that the main storyline was so boring and predictable that I guess they thought spending 8 episodes taking us all over the place would throw us off. It didn’t. The courtroom scenes were so ridiculous. They pieced out information as if they were writing the script as they went. So lame. I got to episode 7 and just couldn’t even be bothered to finish. Zero chemistry between anyone other than Chloe and Nicky. I’d love to see these two again with a better material.
